On August 24, 2024, our organization took another significant step towards promoting environmental sustainability by distributing reusable bags to the community. The bags were generously supplied by our partners-- Lotus Sustainables and Green Paper Products. The event took place in front of Giant Food, one of Maryland's largest supermarkets, attracting a diverse group of shoppers who were eager to contribute to reducing plastic pollution.
The Purpose Behind the Event
The primary goal of this initiative was to encourage the community to embrace the habit of using reusable bags instead of single-use plastic ones. Plastic pollution is a growing concern, with millions of tons of plastic waste ending up in our oceans and landfills every year. By distributing reusable bags, we aimed to raise awareness about the importance of reducing our reliance on plastic and to offer a practical solution that individuals can incorporate into their daily lives.
